As part of our job helping our users to constantly update their opportunities so that the information is relevant, we have introduced something called "control steps". When configuring your sales process in Settings, you can choose which steps in the sales board will push out a "control step".
Example:
I've set up control steps to be pushed in step 3 of my pipeline. When a user moves their opportunity to step 3, a control window will open up with the various fields of the opportunity exposed. This serves as a reminder to review all the data in the opportunity and easily update values, decision dates, probabilities, etc. if needed.
