[Live] Tighter Backup Battery Setting Review at M2

The Update: From 9/15/25, contracts with Backup Batteries will always require our standard 20% minimum backup reserve level, and, have Storm Guard settings enabled.

  • These requirements have always existed as a requirement in our contract, and, are already executed by the majority of installations.

[Advance Preview] California Interconnection Application Submission

Update:

Beginning November 1, 2025, California residential solar Interconnection Application submissions must include a new Solar Energy System Supporting Information document. The 7-page document, also referred to as the CSLB Disclosure Document, requires a 1-year energy savings estimate with standardized inputs and assumptions for solar or solar+storage.

Palmetto LightReach will begin requiring a copy of the completed Solar Energy System Supporting Information document at Milestone 1 on submissions beginning November 1, 2025.

Installation partners are expected to complete the savings estimate, collect the hourly usage history, all remaining fields, and provide a copy to the homeowner. Template here.

[LIVE] Vermont Interconnection Process Update

Update: Vermont - Transferring RECs, Siting Adjustor, and Production Meter Fees

  1. EPCs are required to select the ‘Transfer Ownership’ option for RECs when completing the Certificate of Public Good registration..
  2. EPCs are expected to educate Vermont customers on the 4 cent per kWh Siting Adjustor.
  3. EPCs must cover utility production meter fees and grid upgrades either by paying the customer’s utility account directly or reimbursing the customer, as these charges appear on the first net metering statement

The Update: Our standard NTP requirement, the "Customer Agreement Confirmation", is being renamed to "Clear Facts Disclosure".

  • This is a naming refresh. There are no additional changes to process or disclosure content at this time
  • Partners will see this name change on new accounts starting September 2nd.

[LIVE] Domestic Content Funding Update

The Update: Eligible partners enrolled in Domestic Content will now receive funding for projects following the submission of M1.

The Details:

  • Payments will be determined by DC eligibility and and structured by payment plan percentages. For example, a project would be funded under the following process:
  • Total Project Value with DC = $40,000
  • Payment Plan = 85% at Install Submitted (M1) / 15% Activation Submitted (M2)
  • Install Submitted Payment = $40,000 *85% = $34,000
  • Projects that have been reviewed and are determined to not be eligible under our Domestic Content guidelines will receive a true-up on the payment difference upon M1 approval.
  • Payments will follow our standard Funding Schedule.

SolarEdge Back Up Interface Shortage Milestone Submissions

Update: Project Milestones and Approval

Installation Milestone (Conditional Approval):

  • Eligible if all PV arrays and electrical equipment are mounted and wired. SE backup interface shortage will be treated as an electrical upgrade. Backup interface installation and final interconnection are not required.

Activation Milestone (Final Approval):

  • For activation milestone submission, the project must be fully complete, including backup interface installation and final interconnection to the home’s electrical system.

This process is designed to allow for conditional approval of the main installation while we await the necessary components for the final connection. Please adhere to these new guidelines to maintain project timelines and compliance. (HERE)

All PV systems with a system size (kW) change of ±25% or more from the contracted size at installation will require a new customer contract with updated size, production, and monthly payment. EPC payments are subject to change and will be adjusted accordingly.

Update: SolarEdge has reported a shortage of their Consumption CTs. Until further notice,

  • LightReach will accept alternative CTs from approved OEMs ONLY.
  • Once SolarEdge confirms supply has stabilized, we will notify EPCs to resume using the standard CTs.
  • Consumption CTs from Approved OEMs listed in SolarEdge Application Note.
