Big work behind the scenes ☄️

This release marks the first output of a large project we've been working on behind the scenes. To keep our app running smoothly and using the most modern code practices, we've been hard at work refactoring our foundation. You'll see new components at play in the Dashboard and some of our modals. To find out more, read Sarah's journal here.

Smarter wizard memory when duplicating a job 🧙

If you have a job setup with Items & Expenses, which you have then quoted and subsequently invoiced, previously when you duplicated the job it didn't create all the links from the expenses to quote to invoice within a new job. Therefore, the new job wouldn't get marked as having been invoiced even though the invoice has been sent and paid. We’ve made the wizard memory work harder and smarter so that the complex web of links get re-created in the new job.

User Permissions Updates

We’ve linked the Reporting (beta) to View Jobs permission, and financial columns to the View Financial permission. Users with the View Jobs Permission, but without View Financial are now able to:

• Create and view columns for To Do's, Planned, Unscheduled Time and Job Totals
• Add only Duration columns for Time data sets, and (H) columns for Jobs Totals (refer what's visible on the jobs list) and view the data within these columns

Users with the View Jobs permission without View Financial are unable to do the following:

• Add Expenses, Quotes, Invoices columns from the Add Column dropdown

💅 Small but Mighty

• We’ve combined the Issue date filters for Quote/Invoice and Reference filters for expenses/Invoice for ease of reporting

🛠 Fixes

• Some cached values for Time on Jobs weren't properly updating to include Extra Hours Tracked, resulting in some inconsistent data. This is resolved, and we've put in a fix to regularly update cached values when changes are made 🎉
• Fixed an issue with the Dashboard insight metadata showing $0 in a particular scenario
• We’ve removed Reporting (beta) from the sidebar for those with only the To-Do screen access causing errors
• Resolved an issue with disappearing Saved Favourites after a refresh
• Fixed an issue with the collaboration access not allowing users to access activity comments after a job has been created
• Resolved a Houston error for Pay As You Go customers at sign-up
• Resolved inconsistent display of Planned sell values (appear as $0) if time is logged against an item within Reporting (Beta)
• Resolved an issue with downloading personal time report resulting in a Houston error
• Fixed an issue with the Quote & Invoice formatting using bullet points on PDF
• Resolved an issue with the iOS app preventing users from logging in
