This release is about the Homework sheet. Account rows print owner initials, the Withdrawals and Deposits tables list only accounts that moved money, and the client row always shows the birth month. The Surge module now follows household access for advisors with Limited or Self Only access. A firm that syncs with Zoho can also map three more fields onto the sheet.

Most of what follows is live for every firm and happens on its own. A Homework sheet shows the new rows the next time it is computed. The Zoho fields stay off until an Admin maps them.

Homework account rows are shorter

The Withdrawals, Deposits and RMD tables fit each row on one line.

  • Owner initials replace the owner’s name. A row reads “Inherited IRA | ...1234 | PE” instead of the full name. The name made rows wrap, and page 2 could spill onto a third page. Amounts do not change.
  • Joint accounts show both owners, such as “PE & BE”. When two people in the household share initials, their first names print instead. When the first names match too, the full names print. A trust, an estate or a company prints its full name.
  • Withdrawals and Deposits list only accounts that moved money. An account gets a row in a table only when it had a withdrawal or a deposit in the 12-month window. Withholding counts as a withdrawal. A table with none prints one row, “No withdrawals in these 12 months.” Totals do not change.
  • The client row always shows the birth month and year. “Jul 1961” with a cake icon prints whenever a date of birth is on file. It used to show only within 7 days of the birthday. A deceased client keeps the name and age with no badge.
  • Sheets pick up the change on their own. A Homework sheet switches the next time it is computed: when its data changes, when you click Refresh, or when someone with edit access opens it. A saved snapshot or a Surge packet already generated keeps its old layout. Build the packet again to pick it up.

Surge follows your household access

The Surge module now shows an advisor with Limited or Self Only access the same households as the rest of SurgeTK.

  • Who this applies to. A lead advisor set to Limited or Self Only, and an assistant linked only to such advisors. Admins, lead advisors with access to all households, team members and the assistants of those lead advisors see no change.
  • The household list and the pickers. The household list on a Surge page, Calendar Mode and the household search in Add Meeting and Link Meeting list only the households you have access to. Calendly meetings not yet linked to a household stay visible to everyone, so that they can be linked.
  • Meetings. Creating, editing, linking or deleting a meeting needs write access to its household, and a meeting’s advisor must be a member of your firm.
  • The Run Report. The report lists only the households you have access to and recounts its totals and its verdict from those rows. A line says how many households are not shown.
  • Download ZIP. When a run holds a household outside your access, the download is refused with a message that says so.

More from Zoho on the Homework sheet

A firm that syncs with Zoho can map three more fields. Each stays off until an Admin maps it in Settings > Integrations > Zoho > Map Fields.

  • Client questions. Map the new Meetings tab to Zoho’s Meetings module. The questions a client submitted for a meeting, such as through a Calendly booking, then print read-only under “From your CRM” above your own Client Questions box. The sheet prints the meeting it is prepared for, and your own box stays editable.
  • RMD amounts. Map RMD Amount on the Investable Assets tab. A household with an amount recorded in the CRM shows those amounts in the RMD table instead of calculated ones. The row card names the source and the day the figure was recorded. Enter each year’s figures: last year’s amount is not used as this year’s RMD.
  • Primary residence. Map Primary Residence on the Other Assets tab to the Yes/No field that marks the primary home. The asset is saved as “Home (Primary Residence)” and fills the sheet’s Primary Residence cell.
  • Tax records with no figures. A Zoho Taxes record that carries a tax year but no figures is now skipped instead of saved as a blank year, so it no longer blocks the real return for that year. A blank year saved before this release is filled on the next sync. The sync history drawer lists any tax year that two Zoho records claim with different figures, so you can fix it in Zoho.
  • After mapping. Run a sync with Deep sync ticked so every record is read again. Saving the mapping now keeps every tab the page did not show.

Smaller fixes

  • The newest tax year with figures leads. The Homework sheet’s tax box, the Tax Strategy Review letter’s default year, the tax bracket box on the household page and the Taxes tab lead with the newest year that has figures. A saved year with no figures no longer hides the newest real return. The Taxes tab still lists every year.
  • A Surge name shows as typed. A name with a “<” in it could show as markup in the Surge list. It shows as typed now.
