Hope you're staying cool and having a big July. Here's what's new in Chariot.
💡 Now ON by default for all customers
-
Charge Ranging -- Range the quantity of any charge and Chariot auto-calculates the total. You can turn this off in Settings > General > Estimate Configuration, if you prefer your users don’t have the option to range any charges.
-
Lost & Disqualified Reason — See why you're losing or turning down work. Edit your reasons in Settings > Outcome Reasons. You can turn this off from in Settings > General > Lead/Job Configuration.
🚀 New releases (more details below 👇)
-
Truck Types [request early access] — Categorize trucks by type (26ft, Semi, Van, etc.) and see availability by type on the Job Schedule. Want to get started before wide release? Reply with the truck types you'd like set up!
-
More Automation Engine options — Trigger or stop actions based on locked job dates, specific moving/packing/storage services, or whether a job has a Sales Owner. Plus easier stats navigation to see which jobs are enrolling and actions firing. If you don’t have access yet and are interested, fill out this form.
-
Smarter search — Now gives heavier weight to recent and upcoming jobs, so results are more likely to show the jobs you’re trying to pull up.
-
Tasks from Quick View — Add and complete tasks straight from the Job Schedule or Leads/Jobs dashboards.
-
Search and filter to find Message Templates – Much easier to find the Template you need and start editing via Settings > Edit Message Templates!
-
Sales Owner notification — Get notified when you're assigned a lead, or track which reps are picking up new work.
-
Other wins — Invoice report and search updates, real-time SMS failure messages, smoother customer bulk photo uploads.
📃 Also: wish you could get more documents sent and signed through Chariot? We’re working on it, but we need your documents!
We've been building a feature to create a library of custom documents you can send for e-signature from the office or sign onsite on move day. It's not ready quite yet, but as we get closer, we're collecting real documents that moving companies want to digitize so we can test everything with documents that are ready for prime-time.
Send over any documents you wish you could send via Chariot, and you may be one of the first ones to use the new feature!
New Features: Go Deeper
[Ask for Early Access] Truck Types
A new lead comes in and wants to book for tomorrow. You have 1 truck available to dispatch. But the type of truck – 16ft, 26ft, semi, with lift gate, etc – may determine whether you can take the job.
Now there’s a better way to track these truck details in Chariot: “Truck Types!”
Truck Types work very similarly to the Mover Roles feature.
- You have a custom set of Types (“26ft”, “Semi”, “CDL B”, etc.)
- You can assign these Types to each Truck in your Resources (Resources > Trucks)
- The Job Schedule will display the # of trucks available per day by Type, and when dispatching, you’ll see each Truck’s type on its icon / square.
We’re releasing this to early adopters who want access for a few weeks before broader release. If interested, message us with the Truck Types you want and we’ll get you started!
An increasing number of movers are using Chariot’s Automation engine to cut hours of manual work, drive up booking rates, stay on top of important tasks, collect on open balances, and nurture repeat / referral business.
We’ve added new functionality to support them and other movers that start using the Engine:
- There is now an Automation condition for “any job date locked”, based on the “Lock” feature on the schedule. You can use this to block auto-sending estimates or estimate reminders for days without availability, to flag leads in your pipeline requesting booked / locked days, or even to auto-message leads if their move date becomes locked.
- There is also a condition for the Moving, Packing (partial packing, etc.) and Storage (storage in, etc.) services of a job. For example, you could use this to send packing upsell messages pre-move just to customers who do not have packing services – or to send tailored pre-move messages about what to expect re: packing if you're packing for the customer.
- We added a condition for if a job has or does not have a Sales Owner. You could use this to build Automations like messaging your sales team if a new lead does not have a Sales Owner yet after X minutes, to prevent new leads from slipping through the cracks.
-
The Metrics page for each Automation now can be filtered by the enrollment date OR the last date an Action was taken / fired – useful for Automations like repeat customer check ins where the action(s) may fire several months after the job enrolls the Automation
- Users can now also view and edit Internal/Office-Facing Automation Engine emails via Settings > Edit Message Templates
Global Search Upgrades
Search now more heavily weights recent/ upcoming jobs, which are more likely to be the ones that you’re trying to find within Chariot.
If you have feedback on how we can continue to improve Search in Chariot, let us know!
Manage Tasks in the “Quick View”
You can now create, assign, and mark complete Tasks right from the “Quick View” panel in Chariot.
Helpful, for example, when checking/ completing open tasks the day before the move, or when adding a follow up task live during a call/ check in.
Search and Filter to Find/Edit Message Templates
As we’ve added more features to Chariot, the number of email and SMS/text message templates has grown (you can also create your own custom templates). We wanted to make it easier to find the templates you’re interested in to ensure movers can easily manage/edit them.
So – we added the ability to search (e.g., “Estimate,” “Booking,” “Automation,”) and filter templates by Email and SMS from Settings > Edit Message Templates.
New notification – Sales Owner Assigned
We added a new email/ in-app notification for when a Sales Owner is assigned.
This makes it easier to see when you’re assigned a new lead, or to get visibility into who is picking up new leads across your team.
💪 Other small but mighty updates
- We added the Invoice Number to the Outstanding Invoices report. We also improved the reliability of searching for jobs by invoice number.
- Chariot now displays SMS/Text failures in real-time.
- Chariot shows a cleaner loading animation when customers bulk upload 10-20+ photos through the Photo Uploads feature, so they know the upload is processing.
- We added the number of Tasks assigned, created, completed, and outstanding/ open to the “Salesperson Scorecard” report
