Hi there, Crews now can text customers that they (1) are on the way and (2) have arrived. More details are below!
👋 Note: this feature is off by default – see how to turn it on below.
📬 Questions/ feedback? Use the chat bubble in Chariot or email support@chariotmove.com to share your thoughts.
As always – more updates are on the way!
💡 Why we built this:
On move day, customers like to know that their movers are on the way.
When customers don’t know if movers are on the way, they often call the moving company office – leading to unnecessary admin time.
When movers arrive at the origin to start their work, sometimes customers are not ready – leading to confusion or delays regarding the start time.
🔍 How it works:
From the crew page for a job, movers will see a “Text Customer” button
When they click this button, they’ll see 2 options for texts to send:
Chariot shows a preview of the message before sending. The mover can click “Send” to send the text / SMS.
From the office, you can see the sent texts via the Texts screen
🚀 How to start using this:
Users with a Chariot role of Owner or Manager can turn this feature on from the Settings screen, under “Enable/ Disable Feature”
🔮 Where this is going
In the coming weeks, expect more improvements / additions to the crew experience that will make it easier for crews to access their schedule, fill out their bills of lading, and log times.
As part of this, we expect to integrate time tracking with these text messages (for example, when starting a move, suggest an “on the way” text).
We’ll also be adding the ability for a crew member to add an ETA to the “on the way” message.
