Hi Chariot User,

We’ve released a number of highly requested updates!

Highlights:

  • Lock a day on the schedule – blocking new jobs from being booked on that day
  • Assign movers and trucks at the same time when using the “click and add” approach
  • Hide certain lead sources and moving services from the web form
  • Users can subscribe to notifications about failed ACH transactions
  • Chariot now has a forgot password flow :)

👇 More details and some additional updates below!

Much more to come...

Ian (on behalf of the Chariot team)

Lock a day on the schedule

💡 How it works:

From the job schedule “Day” view, click the lock icon next to the date. This locks the date (click again to unlock).

You can see locked days (but not edit the lock) from the schedule week view and the month view

If a user tries to book, reserve, or reschedule a job to a locked date, Chariot will block them and show an error message. If booking from the schedule (drag and drop), users will see a “✖️” symbol when trying to drag the job.

🔮 What’s next:

We plan on adding visual cues throughout the software that warn users (and potentially your customers) to locked days on the schedule, making this feature even more effective!

Assign movers and trucks at the same time

💡 How it works:

When dispatching to a track / crew by clicking to assign resources, you can now assign movers and trucks from the same pop-up dialog.

Hide certain lead sources and moving services from the web form

❓Why we built this

Previously, Chariot’s web form showed end-customers a full lead source (“How did you hear about us?”) and moving services list.

However, some options may not be relevant to end-customers (for example, a commercial / government lead source or moving service), and could reveal unnecessary information about your business to competitors.

💡 How it works:

From the Settings screen, click the circle on each lead source or moving service to hide it on the web form.

Notifications about failed ACH payments

❓Why we built this:

ACH payments take several days to process - and in some cases result in a failed / reversed payment. We go over this in more detail in our Chariot ACH payments article.

💡 How it works:

From Settings → Notifications, users can subscribe to in-app and email notifications about failed ACH payments, so they can promptly re-collect payment (we have already auto-subscribed all users with a role of "Owner").

Forgot password flow

❓Why we built this:

It was about time 🙂

💡 How it works:

Click “Forgot Password?” from the login screen. Enter a phone number or email, and Chariot will text / email a password reset link to you!

Other updates

  • On the intake tab, we moved the General Notes above the Office-Only notes based on your feedback!
  • Our QuickBooks sync now syncs payment methods and payment notes to QuickBooks
  • We fixed all the action buttons in Chariot’s in-app notifications action buttons
  • Chariot now warns users if they attempt to book a job in the past (for example, if you duplicate a job and forget to update the date)
