Back for more updates? We’ve got you covered, there 👋

We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes to make Factory even smoother, faster, and easier for your team to use. Here’s what’s new this week:

🚀 New Features:

  • Time Tracking Only role: A new user permission that limits access to time tracking tools. This keeps things streamlined for field staff or contractors who only need to log time, without giving access to other parts of Factory
  • Price Formatting (with commas): All pricing values now include commas (e.g. $1,000 instead of $1000). Makes large numbers easier to read at a glance
  • Submit Sales and Purchase Orders without Line Items: Orders can now be submitted even if no items are listed. Gives you more flexibility when starting orders early or saving placeholders for later details
  • Custom Event Description now optional (Planner): You no longer have to fill out a description for every event. This speeds up event creation for your team, especially when a quick calendar entry is all that’s needed
  • Sales Order Notes Now Sync to MYOB: Notes are now mapped directly to MYOB Sales Orders. Ensures consistent communication across platforms – no more missed info or double entry
  • PDF Access for Standard (No Pricing) Users: Standard users without pricing permission can now generate Work Order and Delivery Dockets PDFs. Allows broader team access to necessary docs without exposing pricing info
  • Removed Description Field for OTF Kits on Sales Orders: We’ve simplified the OTF Kit entry process by removing the Description field. This helps speed up Sales Order creation and keeps things clean and efficient
  • External Notes on Partial Invoice PDFs: External customer-facing notes now appear on partial invoices. Keeps clients in the loop – no miscommunication.

🔧 Additional Tweaks:

  • Timesheet Order # field: Fixed an issue where users could not update the Time Entry order field
  • Kit Prices in Sales Order Summary: Kit prices now display individually in the Sales Order Summary, even when products have Cost and Markup enabled
  • MYOB Flashings & Permissions Fix: Resolved an issue that caused errors when creating or updating flashings in MYOB. We’ve also fixed related permission errors to keep your integration running smoothly.

We hope these updates make your day-to-day in Factory more seamless. As always, we’re working on more improvements to help you and your team stay productive and in control. Keep an eye out for next week’s update.

Cheers,
Team Factory
