Introducing assessment opening conditions

Shared by iQualify • May 04, 2026

What's new

Authors now have more control over when learners can access assessed tasks and quizzes, supporting clearer sequencing and helping ensure learners are prepared.

Alongside opening dates, you can set score-based conditions so learners unlock assessments only after achieving a minimum score on an earlier task or quiz.

First release

For this first release, if you make changes to opening conditions and republish, those changes will flow to class activations.

Please note that in some cases, assessments may remain or become locked for certain learners. We recommend using sandpit courses to explore and test this behaviour.

Coming soon

In our second release, enhancements will include automatically opening assessments for learners who meet updated conditions on republish, as well as enabling facilitators and coaches to unlock individual learners’ assessments directly from the Class console.

Learn more about assessment opening conditions and how they can help structure your course, or reach out if you’d like help getting started.

We’ve made improvements to Talk!

Shared by Sarika • November 10, 2025

We’ve made some improvements to Talk, making a smoother more intuitive experience for both learners and facilitators, and this is just the beginning - with more social enhancements planned for 2026!

A search for socials
It’s now easier to find that post you were looking for! Search keywords or names and jump straight to the conversation.

Clearer channels
Facilitators can now set clear Talk channel descriptions so everyone knows which channels to use.

Easier posts
We found having to think up a title was a barrier to conversation. Now just simply add your comment, no title needed.

Simpler replies
We’ve simplified comments/replies to just replying to the initial post (which also aligns with commonly used social media platforms).

Better skimming and scanning
No more having to click in to read a post! Now we’ve got the content of the post right there. Fewer clicks for much better skimming and scanning.
