[ICYMI] Palmetto Retail Electricity Plan TX Update:

Anita-PLR avatar
Shared by Anita-PLR • April 24, 2025

Whats Changing:

Starting on Monday, 5/5, enrolling in (or opting out of) the Palmetto Retail Electricity Plan becomes a requirement for all Texas Lightreach customers. Customers can opt out, but the default is "on".

The Why:

Value – Customers will get an automatic 20% discount on their utility bill until PTO.

Making it "default-on" reflects what we know: homeowners are better off, EPCs want it.

The Bottom Line:

This improves customer experience, simplifies for EPCs, and strengthens our competitive edge.

[LIVE] Arbitrage Batteries Available in Arizona

Calvin avatar
Shared by Calvin • April 02, 2025

The Update: Arbitrage Batteries can now be selected and sold with LightReach systems in Arizona. Authorized personnel may request access to arbitrage battery pricing in AZ by selecting the "Installer: Organizations Settings" option when chatting into LightReach support.

The Background: Arizona's large utilities’ export-credit net-metering policy and the mandatory time-of-use rates present opportunities for customers to maximize their post-solar value recognition by pairing their Solar Lease with a low(er) cost arbitrage-only battery system. Therefore, we are now allowing arbitrage-only battery systems with LightReach Solar leases in Arizona.

The Fine Print:

  • Only authorized personnel can request pricing and market expansion changes, we are not able to honor requests from salespersons.
  • Different from California, arbitrage-only battery systems in Arizona will be priced based on the Total Cost method, the same way backup battery systems are priced across other markets.
  • More details can be found in our Storage resource guide in the knowledge base

[LIVE]: Incentive Documentation Updates: FL + TX

Sierra avatar
Shared by Sierra • March 31, 2025

The Headline: LightReach milestones now require new M2 incentive deliverables in Florida and Texas.

The Activation (M2) Update:

  • A utility countersigned interconnection agreement at M2 for all Florida & Texas projects. If the interconnection agreement is not countersigned by the utility, this will result in M2 rejection.
  • A PTO letter that must include the installation address and date the PTO letter was issued.

The Fine Print: New requirements in effect for new M2 submissions are live as of March 31, 2025. This means that a job sold in February which is M2 submitted on April 1st must have the required documents uploaded to the designated Incentive Section within the activation package. These documents are required as LightReach is participating in the Green-E incentive program.

[LIVE] GreenTech Direct Pay Opt-Out

Sierra avatar
Shared by Sierra • March 11, 2025

The Update: Users can now opt-out of Direct Pay via the customer's project in the LightReach finance portal.

The Details:

  • This feature enables EPCs to proactively remove deals from CED at any time prior to CED shipping equipment to keep their pipelines in sync across LR and CED.
  • Opting Out unblocks payment on accounts held up for CED invoices that will never come because the EPC isn't using CED for that job.
  • This can be done by going to the project's account page and click on Opt Out under Greentech Direct Pay details:

[LIVE] PTO Greenlight Automation

Natalie avatar
Shared by Natalie • February 21, 2025

The Update: LightReach is automating our existing PTO Greenlight process. Installers will (1) receive a clear PTO Greenlight status directly in the LR portal and (2) be able to submit PTO proactively ahead of the M2 milestone.

  • The Now: On 2/26/25 we're previewing our Greenlight status automation directly in the LightReach portal. Additionally, installers can submit PTO details in advance of the broader Activation (M2) submission.
  • The Later: From Q2, PTO Greenlight processes must be followed to avoid a penalty. If PTO is achieved prior to Greenlight, LightReach reserves the right to net fund the ITC value from the EPC milestone payment.

The Background: TPO providers handle complex financial processes behind the scenes. Installers may need to allow for some 'hold time' for an installed system to be processed with our capital funds before it can receive Permission to Operate (PTO) from the utility. Prematurely PTOing a project may result in lost tax credit value.

Typical PTO 'Hold Time' is nominal, however, some accounts may require a PTO Hold Time of up to 10 business days.

The Fine Print:

  • This process is an automated enhancement of our pre-existing, manual processes. We began previewing this automation in October 2024.
  • The PTO Greenlight status will be displayed on each account in the LightReach portal.
  • Designated installer contacts will be notified via email when new Greenlight approvals are granted, and can filter by PTO Greenlight Status in the LR portal.
  • Systems which are PTOd prior to PTO Greenlight Granted may be net funded for lost ITC value.

IL Shines Disclosure Process Update

Sierra avatar
Shared by Sierra • January 24, 2025

The Update: We’ve revised the process on re-sending disclosures after changes are made to the system details. This means no more need to void those contracts to get an updated ABP form!

The Details:

  • QC techs will identify projects that have IL Shines disclosures out of tolerance with program guidelines
  • New disclosures are sent by the internal LightReach incentives team
  • Once signed, our incentives team will upload the updated disclosure to the activation package
  • EPCs will be sent weekly emails regarding which customers have updated disclosures that are unsigned so they can assist LightReach in getting the signature
  • Why it’s Important: Without a signed updated disclosure, EPCs will be unable to secure M2 approvals

Shines Disclosure Form out of program tolerance? We’ve got you covered.
In order to effectively create & send new disclosures for projects that do NOT meet the IL Shines tolerance for AC & DC systems sizes, LightReach now needs a copy of the UB that allows the incentives team to determine the following:

  • An estimate of the customer’s annual electricity usage (needed for all DG Disclosure Forms)
  • Expected 1 year usage:
  • Ameren - Page 1 of the UB
  • ComEd - Page 1 of the UB
  • Electric Supply:
  • Ameren - Page 3 of the UB
  • ComEd - Page 2 of the UB
