Reusing legacy documents from prep libraries or archives?
Any legacy documents you need to reuse this term, or for the new school year, can easily be converted to the new toolkit. Simply copy the Class, Folder, Assignment, or an individual Post to your current class to ensure proven and prepped materials can benefit from more precision, multimedia flexibility and auto-saving.

• Simple Folder and Assignment Copying tools let you seamlessly bring lesson resources from your library into active classes to enhance your teaching.

Personal Libraries are a PRO feature, available on Web (version 6.12.0) and on iPad (version 8.6.0).

• Easier question navigation: in Open Navigation, students can move between questions from a new pagination bar displaying question numbers and types at a glance, colour-coded to show which questions have been answered, skipped, or not yet opened.
• Feedback in context: in Instant Feedback mode, students now get immediate in-line feedback on responses, displaying the correct answer, an explanation, and their choice, all in context with the question.
• Better image layout: images are now displayed side-by-side with the question details, allowing students to reference the image and question details at the same time, while allowing students to zoom in for details on passages or more complex diagrams.
• Clear message prompts: waiting, paused, ended, and completed activity statuses now use plain language, so students always know what's happening and what to do next.
• Accessibility improvements: improved colour contrast, full keyboard navigation, screen reader support, read aloud, multi-lingual login support, right-to-left language support, and a refreshed font for better legibility across languages.

We’ve introduced a new Results Summary on Reports, visible only for teachers, making it easier for you to quickly view key assessment outcomes. At a glance, track:

We improved Live Results and Reports with colour-coded headings and icons to better display question formats, and indicate question-level views and manual grading options.

One Attempt Settings

Tailor quiz delivery to allow for One Attempt in your assessment settings and control whether students get one or multiple attempts to complete a quiz.

Easily Export Answer Keys right from the menu in your Assessments Library, and generate answer keys from previous assessments without affecting later changes. Available on web only*

Groups are now Communities

Groups are used well beyond what we initially imagined. This tweak reflects the feature's wider focus when it comes to engaging students, colleagues and families within your learning community.

Shared Items are now Materials

This technical term made a lot of sense to us when we initially designed Showbie, but doesn't match how teachers described the variety of lesson materials they share with students. Plus, it sounds friendlier.

Overview is now Gradebook

As a digital marking and feedback tracker, this update better describes how we’ve heard teachers use this feature to monitor and manage their assignment and assessment workflows every day.

Say goodbye to the wrench icon, and hello to the circled ellipsis

We know the beloved wrench has been around for a long time. Updating to a more standard and familiar “settings” icon improves the overall accessibility and design for all users. Alongside this glow-up, we:

• moved the "Edit List" feature into the new settings menu
• improved the + icon in the Class and Assignment lists making it easier to add content

We know change is scary. We made these minor improvements based on feedback from educators like you, so hopefully this is the least scary part of spooky season this year.
