Hi there,

We’re excited to bring you this month’s updates. We’ve rolled out new data format support, smoother capture tools on iOS, and early access features that make exploring and sharing your work even easier. Here’s everything that’s new.

New Features

Web App

Support for OmniSLAM Spherical Datasets

Users can now upload and explore OmniSLAM spherical outputs directly in SKAND. Supported formats include LAS and LAZ for point clouds, and JPG, JPEG, and PNG for panorama images.

Support for Gaussian Splats

We’ve expanded our compatibility to include 3D Gaussian Splat formats. Supported formats include PLY, SPLAT, and SPZ.

Quickly rename sessions to keep your workflow clean and organized.

Capture Session List Statuses

New and clearer session status indicators help you understand progress at a glance.

Launch Processing from a Session List

Start processing without opening individual sessions.

New Swipe and Context Menu Actions for Captures

Swipe or long-press to rename, move, or manage captures with fewer taps and better overall navigation.

Move Captures to Another Session

Reorganizing your captures is now easier than ever by moving files between sessions.

Deletion for Uploaded Captures

You can now remove uploaded captures you no longer need, keeping your workspace clutter-free.

Capture Thumbnails

Thumbnails are now available so you can recognize captures visually instead of relying only on file names.

Views

Save and share the exact state of your Explore workspace with teammates. We’ve also made improvements to the UI and overall workflow so saving and loading Views feels smoother and more intuitive.

Executable annotations

You can now customize annotation icons and set specific actions that occur when they’re clicked. We’ve also added a new set of default icons that better match what our users have been requesting.

Layout Engine for a Customizable Explore Experience

Our upcoming layout engine will let you arrange tools and panels however you prefer, giving you a workspace that adapts to your needs.

SKAND iOS App

Automated 360º Videos Workflow

We’re building an automatic pipeline that processes 360 video inputs with less manual setup.

Sensitive Data Blurring for 360º Videos

Privacy tools are coming soon, starting with automatic blurring of sensitive information in your 360º captures.


Bug Fixes and Improvements

Web App

  • Fixed bug where all panoramas became visible.
  • Fixed date and text field format issues when updating existing annotations.
  • Fixed opacity overlapping with the Views button.
  • Fixed bug where all panoramas appeared when adjusting opacity slider.
  • Fixed wrong first image loading in the image viewer.
  • Fixed annotation update failure when multiple fields share the same name and one field was already deleted.

Minor UI changes

We refined small areas of the interface to make labels clearer and navigation more intuitive.
