Hi there,

As we wrap up the year, we are excited to share what is now available in early access, and what we are actively building next. This month’s updates focus on making SKAND easier to navigate, faster to use, and more flexible for how you review and manage data across projects.

Thank you for continuing to build with us. Here is what is new in December.

Early Access

Web App

Executable Annotations

Customize the icons displayed for annotations and define what happens when you left-click them. This gives you more control and flexibility over how you interact with your data.

Views

Save the state of your viewer and its settings, set a custom default view for their project, and even share it with other users.

Dynamic Orthos and Terrains

You can now view imagery and terrain datasets without opening the globe. This makes loading faster and lets you focus directly on the data you need.

Spreadsheet View

View annotation groups in a tabular format to make bulk edits and uploads more efficiently. This is especially helpful when managing large annotation sets.

In the lab – what we’re working on

Web App

Cross Section View

We are building a way to view orthographic cross sections of layers so you can take precise measurements and better understand cross sections.

Clipping Filter for Images and Annotations

This feature will let you spatially filter images, panoramas, and annotations using a familiar clipping box style interface.

Refreshed Web App UI

We are working on a new visual style for the web app, including a dark theme, to improve readability and overall usability.

Responsive Mobile View

We are revamping the mobile experience to make SKAND easier to use on smaller screens without sacrificing core functionality.

SKAND iOS App

Automated Photogrammetry Integration

We are exploring tighter integrations to automate photogrammetry workflows and reduce manual setup steps.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

Web App

Improved Tileset Streaming Performance

We updated the tileset streaming algorithm to reduce visual gaps when navigating the scene and improve overall loading speed.

Fixed Image Download Behavior

Downloading an image from the image ribbon now correctly downloads the file instead of opening it in a new browser tab.

We are excited about the direction these updates are taking SKAND and appreciate the feedback that continues to shape what we build next. If you have thoughts, questions, or want early access to features in development, feel free to reach out to support@skand.io. We would love to hear from you.
