Hi there,

Over the past three months, we focused on making SKAND faster to work in, easier to navigate, and more capable for teams handling large annotation, presentation, and media-heavy workflows. This includes a new spreadsheet-style way to review work, stronger geospatial support, a new cross section workflow, and a steady stream of reliability improvements across presentations, panoramas, and image layers.

New Features

Web App

Annotation Table

A new table-based workspace lets teams review and manage large volumes of annotation data faster, with spreadsheet-style navigation for quick, efficient handling of repetitive review tasks. Features include sorting, resizable columns, column visibility controls, bulk and single-item actions, richer annotation display, and GeoJSON support for working with geospatial data in the same flow.

Learn how to use the Annotation Table here.

Cross-Section Tool

A new cross section tool gives teams a clearer way to inspect spatial information and work with slices through their layers. We've also improved polish and loading behavior so the workflow feels more reliable in day-to-day use.

Georeferencing Workflow

A refined georeferencing experience makes it easier to align and work with map-aligned content. The improvements bring better accuracy and smoother handling when positioning data against real-world coordinates.

Stronger Presentations Workflow

We're continuing to improve Presentations with better sharing behavior, a more polished UI, and stronger support for timed playback and richer story-style sequences. The goal is to make guided walkthroughs easier to create, share, and present with confidence.

In the Lab – What We're Working On

Web App

Smoother Panorama Navigation

We're working on panorama UX improvements, including better transitions between panoramas and stronger visual handling when panoramas interact with point-cloud-heavy scenes. This should make walkthrough experiences feel more seamless and easier to follow.

More Flexible Storage Options

We're shaping support for additional storage providers to give customers more flexibility in how their data is managed. This work aims to make SKAND easier to fit into different infrastructure and deployment needs.

Bug Fixes and Improvements

Web App

  • Improved reliability when duplicating Presentations, including better feedback so users know when to stay on the page while the process finishes.
  • Fixed cases where panorama image imports could miss files and where high-resolution imagery would fail to load correctly.
  • Resolved Presentation playback issues, including visual flicker on the last slide and stale shared presentation states.
  • Improved Share Link usability with better empty states and more consistent behavior when links are created from presentation flows.
  • Reduced confusion in image and panorama workflows by improving on-screen guidance, disabled-state messaging, and toolbar behavior.
  • Added safeguards in save flows and loading states to make annotation and visualization workflows feel more stable during longer operations.

Beyond these updates, we've been busy under the hood with performance fixes and infrastructure work to ensure your experience keeps getting smoother. Stay tuned for what's coming next.

As always, we'd love to hear your feedback. Dive into the new updates today and let us know what you think!
