Hi there,

Here’s a wrap-up of what we shipped in June to make your experience on SKAND smoother, faster and more flexible. From interface upgrades to behind-the-scenes improvements, we’ve continued building on your feedback to deliver a more powerful platform.

New Features

We introduced a few useful upgrades to enhance your workflow:

  • In Data Management, you can now customise the number of items displayed per page
  • You can also delete multiple items at once, whether it’s empty folders or selected files
  • The Euler rotation controls are now available in the layering tab for more accurate adjustments

Early Access: 3D Volumetrics and Sectioning

We’ve launched early access to 3D Volumetrics and Sectioning. These tools make it easier to measure, slice, and inspect your 3D models with precision, supporting more detailed assessments and data exploration.

Want early access to volumetrics and sectioning? Email support@skand.io to get set up.

In the Lab – What We're Working On

Here’s a look at what our team is actively developing:

Web App

  • A new rectangle tool in the Draw menu
  • The Geo-Reference tool which lets you resize and position your model using real-world coordinates
  • Camera local mode allowing you to move more intuitively around a selected model
  • Updates to our renderer to support object scaling across all types
  • Recursive deletion in Data Management, letting you remove folders with content inside

iOS App

  • Progress on automating photogrammetry and redesigning the UI for a faster and more user-friendly scanning experience

AI

  • Improvements to the AI annotation workflow, making it easier to create, manage and train AI models directly in the platform

Bug Fixes and Improvements

  • A refreshed toolbar with larger, clearer icons for easier access
  • Implemented a better algorithm to address label imbalance in datasets, boosting AI model performance
  • Added a Preserve View option that keeps your camera angle consistent when switching between images in the ribbon

That’s it for June. We’ll keep rolling out updates that improve how you capture, manage and analyse spatial data. Your feedback continues to shape our roadmap, so keep it coming.
