Daily tasks keep the wheels turning. Audits make sure the wheels stay on. Fortunately, Trail is built to handle both.

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on functionality that takes the hassle out of your monthly audits:

  1. Star of the month: Auditing on Trail.
  2. Did you know?: Actions trigger automatically.
  3. What's new! Add context quickly

And all with useful links and details on where you can find out more.

Star of the month

Auditing on Trail

If you’ve ever built a Record Log, you already know how to build an audit. Everything you need is already in Trail, included as part of your existing plan. You’ll simply build on the tools you know, with a few additional features to enhance the process.

Turning a simple task into a powerful audit:

  • Use option fields to capture clear yes/no answers or ratings.
  • Enable scoring to generate automatic audit scores for each section.
  • Add logic jumps so one audit can adapt to different site layouts or operational setups.
  • Set up Corrective Actions to ensure any issues trigger the right follow-up.
  • Assign the audit to a Role to ensure the right team members complete it.

Simple to build, powerful in practice!

🤔 Did you know?

Corrective Actions help teams follow up on any issues, and templated Corrective Actions make that follow-up consistent. If a failed question always needs the same response, link a template to it. Trail will surface the right action automatically, taking the guesswork out and improving future audits.

🚀 What's new!

Managers know that adding context is key when completing an audit. Photo evidence, of a job well done or a problem that needs fixing, is key to providing that context.

Users can now upload multiple attachments to a single comment or inline comment, allowing them to add context quickly when working through an audit.

👋🏼 Until next time
