A fresh new look for the Subjects tab

Harry avatar
Shared by Harry โ€ข August 02, 2026

We've redesigned the student Subjects tab to make it easier to explore, discover, and jump back into learning.

Instead of one long, paginated list of subjects, students now see a clean overview with everything organised by category - Including English, Science, Geography, Math, Learning Strategies, Typing, Just for Fun, History, and Custom.

What's new:

  • ๐Ÿ“š Browse by category - Each category has its own tile, with a badge icon that ties into our upcoming gamification system. Tap in to see every subject inside.
  • โ–ถ๏ธ Continue where you left off - Any subject a student is currently working on appears at the top of the page, so they can pick up in one click.

The redesign is live now for all student accounts.

Admin and teacher views remain unchanged and will be updated at a later date

We've added three brand new games to TTRS, plus music and sound effects across all six games.

The new games:

  • ๐Ÿš€ Space blaster - Blast asteroids out of the sky by typing words as they appear. Fast-paced and great for speed practice.
  • ๐ŸŽ๏ธ Type racer - Race to the finish line. The faster and more accurately you type, the further ahead you pull.
  • ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Rocket builder - Build a rocket piece by piece by typing words correctly. Every word gets you closer to launch.

Now with music and sound effects - every game now has its own soundtrack and audio feedback, making practice feel more immersive and rewarding. Sound can be turned off in settings if students prefer to play quietly.

Want to know how your students are doing without digging through reports? The new AI Assistant in TTRS gives you instant answers about student performance, engagement, progress and more - just ask.

Open the AI Assistant from your dashboard, pick one of six questions, or type your own. You'll get a clear summary back in seconds.

Try these Quick Questions to get started:

  • ๐Ÿ“Š How did my students do this week?
  • ๐Ÿ†˜ Which students may need extra support?
  • โš ๏ธ Who has been inactive for more than 7 days?
  • ๐Ÿ† What were my students' top achievements?
  • โœ… Which students logged in this week?
  • ๐ŸŒŸ Who achieved a personal best this week?

Each answer comes with key stats - active students, modules completed, average accuracy, words per minute, time spent learning - so you can spot trends, celebrate wins, and step in where it matters most.

The AI Assistant is available now in your admin dashboard at the bottom right hand corner.

๐Ÿš€ New: Typing Games to Boost Engagement and Progress

Harry avatar
Shared by Harry โ€ข April 14, 2026

Weโ€™re excited to introduce Typing Games - a new addition designed to make practice more engaging while accelerating student progress.

These interactive, timed games allow students to reinforce the exact words theyโ€™ve just learned, helping to strengthen retention while improving both typing speed and accuracy.

Unlike traditional practice, students earn points by typing words correctly under time pressure โ€” turning repetition into something fun, motivating, and rewarding.

Currently, typing games are turned off by default but can be turned on my Admin / Teachers in settings.

Creating your own typing subjects and wordlists in TTRS just got easier! Our new AI Subject Creator helps admins and teachers turn ideas into ready-to-use typing modulesโ€”perfect if youโ€™re not sure where to start or want a faster way to build custom content.

Using AI, you can generate a structured subject based on a simple prompt. Whether you want a general template or something more specific, AI does the heavy lifting by creating levels and typing modules that you can then review, adapt, and expand to suit your studentsโ€™ needs.
