Hi there,
Crews now can text customers that they (1) are on the way and (2) have arrived. More details are below!
👋 Note: this feature is off by default – see how to turn it on below.
📬 Questions/ feedback? Use the chat bubble in Chariot or email support@chariotmove.com to share your thoughts.
As always – more updates are on the way!
💡 Why we built this:
- On move day, customers like to know that their movers are on the way.
- When customers don’t know if movers are on the way, they often call the moving company office – leading to unnecessary admin time.
- When movers arrive at the origin to start their work, sometimes customers are not ready – leading to confusion or delays regarding the start time.
🔍 How it works:
- From the crew page for a job, movers will see a “Text Customer” button
- When they click this button, they’ll see 2 options for texts to send:
- Chariot shows a preview of the message before sending. The mover can click “Send” to send the text / SMS.
- From the office, you can see the sent texts via the Texts screen
🚀 How to start using this:
- Users with a Chariot role of Owner or Manager can turn this feature on from the Settings screen, under “Enable/ Disable Feature”
🔮 Where this is going
- In the coming weeks, expect more improvements / additions to the crew experience that will make it easier for crews to access their schedule, fill out their bills of lading, and log times.
- As part of this, we expect to integrate time tracking with these text messages (for example, when starting a move, suggest an “on the way” text).
- We’ll also be adding the ability for a crew member to add an ETA to the “on the way” message.
