Shared by John • July 22, 2024

We've just released feature updates for the National Network Map:

  • Prominent display of bridges and culverts in Route Planner: Bridges and culverts are now prominently displayed for networks where the data is available in the NHVR Route Planner. The same consistent traffic light system is used to colour the icons to indicate restrictions, conditions and approvals.
  • Road segment selection panel UI improvements: now when selecting more than one road segment a selection panel will appear allowing you to group selected segments by road name or approval type. Distance in km has also been added.
  • Enable clicking on network conditions/restrictions and icons at higher zoom level: previously to click and view conditions/restrictions required zooming into the map to a suburb level. Now you can zoom into a state level and click on and view conditions/restrictions.

We've just released feature updates to make the National Network Map available in the Route Planner:

  • NHVR National Network Maps are now available to display as layers in the Next Generation Route Planner.
  • Previous heavy vehicle network maps on the Route Planner could be out of date from the official maps by up to 3 months or more due to the complex and time consuming processing requirements.
  • By integrating the National Network Maps into the Route Planner all vehicle networks are now up to date and immediately reflect updates published by Road Managers to the National Network Map.

National Network Map - April 2024 updates

J
Shared by John • April 18, 2024

We've just released feature updates for the National Network Map:

  • Added Google Street view to enable viewing street imagery alongside the network map.
  • When selecting a vehicle show all network maps from each state compatible with the selected vehicle and not just the networks explicitly defined for the vehicle*.

* For example, the vehicle '26m B-double with no quad axle group' is explicitly defined as a vehicle by Qld and for this vehicle we previously only displayed a network in Qld. Other States have network maps for a 26m B-double (allowing quad axles). This improvement automatically detects that these network maps are available to the '26m B-double with no quad axle group' and so when selecting this vehicle you'll see a national map (not limited to just Qld).
