Time of Day Segmentation

Haim avatar
Shared by Haim • May 13, 2026

You can now run A/B tests in your Extensions and Shipping Methods, targeted by the hour or day a shopper checks out.

A clean win at the aggregate level can hide completely different shopper behavior underneath. A Saturday basket-builder and a Tuesday reorder are not the same buyer. Average them, and the sharpest signal in your test goes flat.

How it works:

  • Set up an A/B test in Extensions or Shipping Methods like you normally would
  • Add a time-of-day or day-of-week condition (weekends only, weekdays 11am–2pm, late-night browsers, etc.)
  • PDQ runs the variant only when the condition matches, and reports results by segment
  • See the lift for each window, not just the average

What you can configure:

  • Hour-of-day windows: lunchtime, evenings, late nights, or any custom range
  • Day-of-week conditions: weekends, weekdays, specific days
  • Combine with existing segments: stack with first-time vs. returning, AOV bands, or geo
  • Compare across time slices: see exactly where the lift came from

Try it (when the time is right!)

Product Upgrade in Checkout

Haim avatar
Shared by Haim • April 30, 2026

Let shoppers upgrade to a bundle or swap to a better variant, right at checkout — without leaving the page.

If you sell bundles, kits, or tiered products, you've probably watched shoppers buy the single when the pack exists. Product Upgrade puts the option in front of them at the moment they're most committed.

How it works:

  • A shopper reaches checkout with a product that has an upgrade path configured
  • A dropdown appears in the order summary showing the bundle, premium variant, or add-on they can switch to
  • One click. Cart updates instantly. No redirect, no re-entering info.

What you can configure:

  • Trigger rules: Map any product to its upgrade — match by product, variant, tag, or collection
  • Segmentation: Show upgrades to all shoppers or specific segments (first-time vs. returning, device type, custom)
  • Appearance: Customize the dropdown label and styling to match your brand
  • A/B testing: Test the extension on a segment before rolling out to everyone

Use cases brands are running now:

  • Single cookie → cookie bundle
  • Standard size → premium size
  • Base product → product + stand or case
  • One serum → full skincare set

Only shoppers with a matching trigger product see the upgrade prompt. Everyone else gets a clean checkout - no generic pop-ups, no irrelevant offers.

Dynamic Reviews is live!

Haim avatar
Shared by Haim • April 14, 2026

Show real product reviews at checkout, matched to whatever's in the shopper's cart.

What's new:

  • Dynamic Reviews extension: upload a CSV of your product reviews, and PDQ displays them at checkout, matched to each product in the cart.
  • 3 layout options: Rating Badge (compact inline stars + review count), Review Carousel (scrollable cards with review text), or Review List (stacked with pagination).
  • Fully designable: customize star colors, fonts, and spacing to match your brand.
  • Fallback reviews: toggle on a generic review for products that don't have reviews in the CSV yet.
  • Control how many show: limit the number of reviews displayed per page (carousel and list layouts).

Coming soon: Direct integrations with Okendo, Judge.me, Yotpo, and more- so you won't need CSV uploads at all. Plus star-rating filtering and reviews on upsells and gift-with-purchase.

How to set it up: Checkout Content → Add Extension → Dynamic Reviews → Upload your CSV (download our template first). Or review the help center article.

New: Discount Code Rejection Extension

Haim avatar
Shared by Haim • March 30, 2026

Rescue failed coupon attempts and keep shoppers in checkout!

You know the moment: a shopper types in a coupon code, it gets rejected, and they bounce. That failed discount attempt just cost you an order.

The new Discount Code Rejection extension catches that rejection in real time and automatically offers an alternative discount, right there in checkout, before the shopper leaves.

How It Works

When a shopper enters an invalid coupon code at checkout, Shopify rejects it. PDQ's Web Pixel picks up on that rejection instantly and displays a replacement offer — either as a banner with the discount details, or as a clickable widget where the shopper can apply the new code in one click.

You set the rules: match specific codes (exact match, prefix, or regex), choose the replacement discount type (percentage or fixed amount), set expiry and combination rules, and decide whether the new discount auto-applies or requires a click.

What You Can Do With It

Rescue abandoned checkouts — failed coupon codes are one of the top reasons shoppers leave checkout. Now you can catch them before they go.

  • Run flexible replacement rules: match by exact code, prefix, or regex pattern. Offer a generated one-time-use coupon or point to an existing store discount.
  • Personalize the message: use dynamic fields like {replacement_discount} and {customer_name} to make the offer feel personal.
  • Choose how it looks: pick between a banner (informational) or clickable widget (with an "Apply Discount" button). Customize colors, button style, and CTA text.

The extension is live now. Check out the setup guide to get started, or reach out to support@prettydamnquick.com if you have questions.

Here's how stores are already using it:

  • A customer picks the wrong size shoe: now they swap it themselves in seconds
  • Someone picked the wrong delivery address, now they update it instantly
  • A shopper spots a matching accessory on the thank you page and they add it to their existing order, boosting your AOV

You choose exactly what's editable: shipping address, product variants, order notes, adding items, and set time limits and safety guardrails. Once fulfillment starts, editing automatically turns off.

Less manual work. Happier customers. More revenue.

Upsell + Free Gift Unlock Combo

Haim avatar
Shared by Haim • August 18, 2025

A seamless 2-step flow to turn single-item carts into high-AOV checkouts

We just rolled out one of our sharpest growth tools yet, a tightly coordinated combo between Checkout Upsell and Gift Unlock, built for brands who want more revenue without codes, hacks, or manual ops.

One sunglasses brand is already using it to convert 42% of their single-item carts - and they’re doing ~$8,900/month from this one flow.

How it works:

  1. If cart = 1 item → Show upsell prompt
“Add one more and get a free gift!”
  2. If the upsell is selected → Auto-unlock the gift
Gift is added instantly, only if triggered by the upsell. No coupon. No abuse.
  • Includes built-in guardrails to stop manual cart tweaks from triggering the gift

Why it matters:

  • Fully automated: No tags, no coupons, no duplicate rule logic
  • High control: Gift only unlocks when you want
  • Built to scale: Perfect for high-volume stores where every 1% lift = $$$

This combo is a template for any brand looking to boost AOV without sacrificing margin or ops sanity.
