🤩 A packed set of Chariot updates! | Crew upgrades, map reports, inventory dictation, and much more

Hey there,

We’ve been busy – back with a hefty set of product updates / new features. Please take a minute to skim the details so you can get the most out of them!

Hourly billing and time tracking is even simpler for crews/ movers
The recently-announced crew schedule acknowledgement feature is available for all moving companies to turn on from the Settings page. There’s also a new notification you can turn on for this feature.
The new Map Visualizations report helps you see all your leads/ jobs on a map to find helpful insights
AI-powered inventory dictation (just say what’s moving, Chariot adds inventory) is on for everyone
You can now fully manage/ edit your own Mover Roles and Truck Types
When booking, Chariot shows you which schedule tracks have overlapping jobs
A new report shows you estimated vs. actual revenue by job for any time period
No more “X jobs are ready to book banner” – we’ve replaced it with a cleaner and less in-your-face red dot in the main menu/navigation
The field/box where you input locations/addresses is now snappier and less prone to error
Many other small improvements across the software!

📲 Simpler Hourly Rate / Work Times flow for your movers

We’ve rolled out an improvement to how work times and hourly rates are set by crews – with the goal of an easier mover experience and fewer mistakes.

The key changes:

Movers now set the hourly rate (defaulting to the estimate) first → then set the movers / trucks working the job.
Adding and editing work times from the bill of lading is now step by step and simplified
The user interface has bigger and more obvious buttons/ text for the movers

We know there’s even more we can do to create a mover experience that is both easy AND flexible for movers. Reach out if you have ideas / feedback!

✅ Crew Schedule Acknowledgements: Available to ALL to turn on:

A few weeks ago we announced a new feature that lets your crew/movers mark that they’ve seen the schedule so that you’re confident everyone will be ready to work.

This feature is now available to ALL moving companies on Chariot. Turn it on yourself via Settings > General > Scheduling, Dispatching, and Crew Management.

We also added a notification you can subscribe to when movers acknowledge their assignments. Turn it on from Settings > Notifications.

🗺️ Map Visualization Report

You can now visualize all your jobs -- origins, destinations, and travel paths -- right from Chariot. Drill in by sales owner, estimate size, distance, sales owner, source, and more. Just click on the new Report under Operations > Reports > "Map Visualizations".

Answer questions like:

Where are my best leads coming from?
Where are customers finding us from mailers? Google?
Are there neighborhoods/ buildings where we do a lot of work where we can build referral partnerships?
What long distance routes can we double down on?

📢 Dictate Inventories using your voice: on for everyone

The overall feedback from movers was hugely positive on our new AI-powered inventory dictation feature. Just record yourself talking about what’s moving (or not moving) from each room, and Chariot generates the inventory list with weights, volumes, and notes.

So, we turned it on for all Chariot users.

Test it out if you haven’t done so already! We have more improvements coming to this feature soon (in particular more accurate box categorization).

👥🚚 Manage your own mover roles and truck types

You can now fully customize mover roles and truck types without Chariot support. A quick refresher:

Mover Roles
Mover roles, like Crew Leader, Helper, Driver, etc. – help you see the role each mover is filling on a job, and to track how many people of each role you have available to get your moves done. You can even tie mover roles to default pay rates (or custom pay by individual mover, by role) and generate hourly pay via Chariot reports (learn more here).

You can now edit your mover roles fully from Resources > Mover Roles.

Truck types

We recently introduced this feature so you can differentiate different kinds of Trucks, like 16ft, 26ft, Semi, CDL A, CDL B, Lift Gate, etc – whatever helps you more clearly see what types of trucks you have available to complete your jobs.

You can now turn on this feature from Settings > General > Scheduling, Dispatch, and Crew Management > Enable Truck Management

After this is enabled, go to Resources > Truck Types to edit your Truck Types, and assign Truck Types to your Trucks in Chariot via Resources > Trucks.

🔴 The Booking flow shows which Tracks on your schedule are available

You no longer need to book jobs from the Job Schedule page to see what’s available/ open.

The booking flow now shows you which tracks on your schedule overlap with the job you’re booking, and which are open!

💡We simplified the “Ready to Book” notification

Previously, Chariot showed a can’t-miss banner notification at the bottom of all users' screens when there were any Leads ready to book (via recently signed estimates, etc.). The reason: many movers want to urgently, officially book those jobs onto the schedule ASAP.

Over time, we’ve learned some movers didn’t like this banner. It blocked/ distracted from important work on the screen – especially on a phone – and some movers have reasons for intentionally keeping leads in the Ready to Book stage.

So – we made the notification simpler, and smarter.

Now, when a Lead is ready to book, you’ll see a red dot next to the Leads tab (when menu is collapsed) and next to the Ready to Book stage (when menu is expanded). Easy to notice, but not blocking what you’re working on.

🔼 New Estimated vs. Actual Revenue by Job Report

We added a new report that displays the estimated vs. actual revenue for jobs from a period of time (with filters for source, sales owner, etc.), so you can identify specific jobs that were under/over-estimated and improve estimate accuracy.

📍New and improved address fields

We made an improvement to our dynamic address fields that makes them faster and easier to use, and avoids occasional frustrating user issues that we saw happen with the previous version.

💪 Other small but mighty updates

We added instructions for embedding your Chariot web forms in Settings > Web Form Configuration.
If you range any charges on your Estimates, Chariot now also cleanly ranges sales tax, discounts, and all sub-totals
We fixed an issue that was happening when inventory was collected via a phone or tablet, in which the search results would “move around” slightly when tapping an item repeatedly. Much smoother now for onsites!
Hyperlinks to addresses in Chariot – for crews and for the office – now link to google map listing addresses directly, instead of the specific coordinates.
The Results tab now shows the time – not just date – for payments collected (click the 3 dots next to the payment)
We added a search bar to the Inventory Settings page, making it easier to find and edit default inventory items.
We added a warning that appears when you’re close to being automatically logged out of Chariot, offering you the opportunity to extend the session without having to log back in.
We improved how tasks for a job appear in the “Quick View” panel
